Dr. Tirmizi was born in southeastern Michigan. She grew up enjoying the outdoors and winter sports such as skiing and ice skating. She played the viola for 10 years and appreciates the addition of string instruments to various music genres from Bollywood sound tracks to the Simpsons theme song.

Dr. Tirmizi completed her undergraduate education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and Medical School at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. She finally left the cozy Midwest for the hustle of the east coast after she was married in 2010.

She completed her Anesthesiology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. She then moved to New Haven, CT for her Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship. She also gave birth to her daughter that year.

Dr. Tirmizi now works as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist at Tufts Medical Center, with a special interest in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology. She is working to grow her career both clinically and academically and is looking forward to what the future holds.
