Help Along the Way

We have a strong team that is dedicated to helping families while their child is in our care. Aside from our world-renowned medical specialists, our staff includes:

Child life specialists, who help our patients deal with the emotional trauma of serious disease and invasive treatment. These specialists focus on child development and help our patients continue to feel like kids while they are receiving treatment. Our Child Life Program is designated to help patients and their families cope with the stress of illness and hospitalization through play. They determine the need for tutoring, initiate camp and wish applications. They also facilitate support groups for siblings (VIBS) and teens (Shooting Stars).
